My dear friend Nikki Brown, The UK dog whisperer, has a fab double page spread in the festive edition of Pick Me Up magazine! The article is called barking mad and Nikki answers readers questions about their poorly pooches.
I was thrilled when Nikki told me that she was using a photo that I took of her and Annie for the article and was even more thrilled when I saw it in the magazine along with my name.

Tree toy or toy tree?

During a sunday afternoon stroll with my boyfriend and his boys we stumbled upon a tree covered in toys!
People leave their unwanted toys tied to the tree to swap with other kids, how cool is that!? So...we took a few little toys for the toy tree and here are the snaps I took....

p.s. to visit the toy tree....go to Hartlebury common and hunt it down!

On a beautiful October afternoon and bathed in the Autumn Sunshine, the Wyre forest was a perfect location for a shoot with the UK Dog Whisperer Nikki Brown and her canine companion Annie. This lady does some amazing work and she sure lives up to her nickname The Canine Angel (we have her to thank for having such a well behaved little labrador!)
We had a lovely little stroll and found a stunning spot deep in the forest and started shooting, Annie is THE best doggy model I have ever photographed and is a credit to Nikki.
If you are having any problems with your precious pups I would seriously recommend giving Nikki a call.

Beautiful baby Yara

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing a delightful little munchkin called Yara and her beautiful mummy Sol on the Island of Lanzarote. We set up down on the beach at 5pm as the sun was gradually getting lower and giving us the perfect glow. Yara and her mummy turned out to be fantastic models as you can see by the beautiful moments I captured of them both!

Tonight I went to see this amazing poppy field in bloom at the Black stone rock nature reserve in bewdley. It bloomed beautifully last year and I missed it so was determined to capture it this year. Unfortunately the sun was behind the clouds and it started to rain so I didn't get any fantastic shots but this is what I did get!

These are a few of my favourite old photos. The first one is one that we discovered recently in a huge box of old family photographs that belonged to my great nan.

This is such a beautiful hand coloured photograph. I love everything about it. Their happy faces....the blur of the confetti scattered on the ground...even the catch lights on the taxi roof. It has such sentimental value and I certainly hope that I look this gorgeous on my wedding day!

This is a photo of my mum on holiday in 1984. What a massive poser! I think she looks like a famous news reader or something. But joking aside, I love it because I think she looks so beautiful and what a great photograph taken by my dad.

This is a photo of my dad taken on the same holiday. Another total poser, and beautifully taken using the rule of thirds by my mum! You can see where I get my talent from :P hehe.

This is me at the age of 2 or 3 reading a very interesting story in Best magazine! I wish I still had those little shoes, they're so cute!

Love this photo of me and my dad, it always makes me smile. You can see my little "spoc" ear sticking out too!

So we are going to be at The designer Wedding Fair on 8th May and have been collecting trinkets and things for our stand. I thought it would be a good idea to get some new business cards done too.
I went for the cute/novel look and here they are, from Moo.com.

After graduating last year I had a little break from photography. Having to take photographs every day for 2 years for assignments really took the fun out of what was once my hobby. So I have decided that I must take more photographs!
So...while I was supposed to be tidying my room this afternoon....I actually ended up taking photographs, which is good for me but not so good for my messy room.

In New York the Full Figured Fashion Week is happening right now, it is dedicated to the best plus-size fashion industry. Innovative silhouettes that flatter curvy

The second annual Full Figured Fashion Week is happening right now in New York, a showcase where some of the best and brightest in the plus-size fashion industry come to share their collections, represent their boutiques, and show promise for the future of full-figured fashion. FFFWeek, sponsored by retailer Sonsi, is showcasing nineteen collections from individual designers and brands, including Yuliya Raquel of Igigi, Angel Alternative (by Angel Myers), and Drapery (by Jaspher Knowles).

The entirety of the collections have shown the extent of the diversity in this segment of the fashion industry, showing feminine sportwear by Pure Energy, and sophisticated, tailored pieces by LaDan's closet.

Among the more promising of the new and emerging designers was Chan.nel Kamara, designed by San Francisco native LaToya Skinner, which possessed a certain edge not typically seen in plus-sized fashion. Her ability to create innovative silhouettes that flatter curvy figures is more than welcome in a market thirsty for this kind of evolution towards more fashion forward pieces.

This morning i was sent a link to this article published in The Indipendant today. The article is entitled "

Designer says plus-size models are 'a joke'.

In my opinion these designers are missing a trick by alienating a whole chunk of the population. Women are not inspired by seeing clothing on wafer thin models, and would most probably be deterred from purchasing anything designed by someone who refuses to showcase them on anyone bigger than a size 10.

Real Women

These are some of my final images from my ongoing project on real size women.

I believe that conventional fashion advertising featuring women places too

much emphasis on unrealistic size-zero models and it is for this reason

I have used only plus-size models of size 10 or more.

With inspiration from some of the greats such as Helmut Newton and John French

plus my love for vintage glamour, I have produced a set of images

that portray femininity, sensuality and power.

To enable me to capture this in my photographs, I used hand-made corsetry

to accentuate the models’ feminine curves, and to make them look and feel strong

Bridal shoot

Some images from the bridal shoot i did at the Hyatt hotel with Sophie Page, Nina Dateshidze, Emmie Ann, Roseanne velin, Opri Vesterinen, and Jo @ Rawhide Corsets. It was a very long day (11am - 8.30pm!!), but worth it. Everyone worked very hard.

Old Hollywood Glamour

A few weeks ago i had the pleasure of working with a plus size model from Australia named Laura Wells. She was fabulous to work with, and we were lucky enough to shoot in the custard factory gallery (big, white, bright open space!!), we also temporarily stole one of the sofas from reception. The shoot went well and im more than pleased with the results.

I recently did a shoot for a band called Strangle Kojak, i found out yesterday that one of the photos has gone up on a digital billboard in Birmingham city centre!!

I went to see it today and had my photo taken infront of my first ever billboard photo. How exciting.

UCB FOOD PHOTOS

Last Wednesday i did some shots for 2 food students at UCB. My first shoot of the day was with Dan Mogg, who made a fig and walnut cake, which was absolutely gorgeous. Staring at it through a lens for 3 hours made me rather hungry...and i ate a huge slice when we were done.

My second student was Pandie Ho, who made some rasberry cheesecake french macaroons.Its a tricky recipe and she wasnt happy with how they were turning out, but we went with the 3rd batch.

We had trouble getting them to look right using flash, so we decided to go with the natural light coming through the window. Im really pleased with how they turned out.
